With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Rodger Cook (Belleville, Illinois), born in East Saint Louis, Illinois, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Rodger left this world on December 6, 2025 at the age of 69, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, Vera "Maxine" Divine Shadwick Cook and Ronald Cook Sr.; his siblings, Macks Dale Shadwick and Terry Lou Shadwick Piffner; his niece Katrina Lynn Schwann; his brother-in-law Rodney Williams; and his stepsiblings, Darlene Kenser and Quient Kenser.
He is survived by: his children, Dallas Cook (Erica) and Taylor Cox (Will); his grandchildren, Jack, Boston, Cash, Jayda Cook, Grayson, Charlie and Liam Cox; his siblings, Kennetha "Keni" Bishop (Dennis), Ronda Williams and Ronald Cook Jr. (Amy); his stepbrother Glenn Kenser; and his sister-in-law Pamela Shadwick. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the George Renner & Sons Funeral Home (120 N Illinois St, Belleville, IL 62220).
In lieu of flowers, the family asked that memorials be made to the family in care of Dallas Cook.
