He is survived by: his mother Phyllis E. Capps of Belleville, IL; his daughter Veronica Niklich of Collinsville, IL; his grandson Christopher Zachary; his sisters, Ruth Capps (Dennis) and Paula Lowry (Roger) of Fairview Heights, IL; his niece Eppy Jane; his nephew Venancio Nathan Neil Cassidy; and his great-niece Hope Faith Justus.

Memorials may be made to the Belleville Gateway Foundation.
