He is survived by: his wife Diana Schmittling; his stepdaughter Sierra Wood; his father Wayne Schmittling, Sr.; his siblings, Wayne Schmittling, Jr. and Elizabeth Suchman (Randy); and his nieces and nephews, Jeremy Schmittling (Lora), Sarah Schmittling, Ashley Dabler (Greg), Brandon Suchman (Kelly), Ross Suchman (Krissy), Alaina Suchman and Lydia Beishir (Cody).

Memorials may be made to the Ainad Shriners of Southern Illinois.
