It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Vivian Derice Bishop of Belleville, Illinois, who passed away on September 26, 2025, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel Sheeley and Eulene Sheeley (Linley); her brother Paul Sheeley Sr. (John R. Bishop); and her pet Smokey. She is survived by: her sons, Daniel A. Bishop (Jennifer) of Belleville, IL, Thomas Bishop (Crystal) of Sheridan, AR, Donald Bishop (Cheryle) of Ashdown, AR and John Bishop of Mexico; her grandchildren, Samantha M. Bishop, Marilyn L. Bense, Kameron Bishop, Kristopher Bishop (Samantha), Kirsie Vargas (Anthony) and Brooks Bishop; and her siblings, Martha L. Richardson of Belleville, IL, James E. Sheeley (Alice) of Quincy, MA, Vernon S. Sheeley (Libby) of Edwardsville, IL, Wendell B. Sheeley (Isabel) of Jacksonville, IL and Sandra E. Redman (Tim) of Caseyville, IL.. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren and other extended family.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 at 1:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 at 5:00 PM at the Valhalla-Gaerdner-Holten Funeral Home (3412 Frank Scott Pkwy W, Belleville, IL 62223).
