He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Wheeler and Lucinda Wheeler (Thompson); his wife Edith M. Lamont; his sister Beverly Ohm (Bob); and his great grandchild Megan Schultz.
He is survived by: his daughters, Susan Schultz (Larry), Sandra Winne, Karen Sweet (Steven) and Kathleen Olson (John); his grandchildren, Brent Wilson (Jen), Eric Wilson (Lori), Leslie Musil, Rachel Condon (Michael), Sarah Houston (Shawn), Michael Winne (Loren), Jared Sweet, Jordan Sweet (Megan), Justin Sweet (Jesi Mattox), Stephanie Sweet (Garrett Brown), Ashley Olson and Drew Olson (Briana); his siblings, Carol Hale (Virgil) and Russell Wheeler (Dale); and his siblings-in-law, Judith Zoellick, Gyneth Lamont, Janice Lamont and Richard Swenson. He is also survived by 25 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 2nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Belvidere Funeral Home (203 Logan Ave, Belvidere, IL 61008). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 2nd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, December 2nd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Belvidere Cemetery (1121 N Main St, Belvidere, IL 61008).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date.
