He was predeceased by: his parents, Ervin A. Koenig and Bernetta "Bunnie" Koenig (Stangl). He is survived by: his wife Jeanine Koenig; his sons, Michael Koenig, Joseph Koenig, Casey Simmons and Jacob Woyner; his grandchildren, Grace Koenig, Cheyenne Simmons and Brooksdon Simmons; his siblings, Kathleen Plager and Patrick Koenig; his close friends, Chris Drews, Wally Johnson and Rick Berry; and his pets, JoJo and Charley. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Epilepsy Foundation or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
