With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Marilyn Joyce Kemp Hanson of Belvidere, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 31, 2025 at the age of 97. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Trenton "Mac" McKern and Dorothea McKern (Dillman); her former husband John M. Kemp; her husband Donald L. Hanson; her grandson John F. Kemp; and her daughter-in-law Deb Kemp (Deeter).
She is survived by: her sons, Jack T. Kemp and Stuart M. Kemp; her daughter-in-law Julie Kemp (Schwebke); her grandchildren, Kira Kemp Bastyr (Ryne), Samuel Kemp (Courtney) and Sarah Bowen (Brandon); and her great grandchildren, Kemper, Maeva, Nixon Bastyr, Vinny, Joey Kemp and Blake Bowen.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 11th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM.
In later years she did a lot of volunteer driving for Helping Hands and for the American Cancer Society of Rockford.
