He was predeceased by: his parents, George Carolfi and Eleanor Carolfi (Andres); his wife Viola "Vi" Grossbier; and his siblings, Larry, Ronald and Jean Phillips.
He is survived by: his children, Jan Helmig (Kurt), Lori Nelson (Mark), Bud Carolfi (late Cheryl Platt) and Jodi Rippon (Steve); his grandchildren, Kayla and Courtney Rippon; his siblings, Shirley Ertl, Marion Weiler, Ruth Hamus (Clifford), Ken Carolfi (Sue) and Jerome Carolfi; Chris, Cristy, Heather and Heidi.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 4th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Belvidere Funeral Home & Cremation Service (203 Logan Ave, Belvidere, IL 61008). A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, November 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. James Catholic Church (402 Church St, Belvidere, IL 61008).
