With solemn reverence, we commemorate Roger Mitchell (Belvidere, Illinois), born in Rockford, Illinois, whose life came to an end on April 18, 2026 at the age of 93, leaving behind cherished memories. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey Mitchell and Elsie Mitchell (Stieg); and his siblings, Robert Mitchell, Sr. and Lucille Lindquist (Donald). He is survived by: his children, Kathie Lake of Park Falls, WI, Tom Mitchell of Belvidere, IL, Gretchen Mitchell of Bloomington, IL, Becky Loos (Mark) of Belvidere, IL and Wade Mitchell (Anke) of Red Lake, Ontario; the mother of his children Mary Mae Mitchell of Phillips, WI.; his sister-in-law Linda Mitchell; and his niece Barb Buck. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

The military honors was held on Friday, April 24th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Belvidere VFW (1310 W Lincoln Ave, Belvidere, IL 61008). A celebration of life was held on Friday, April 24th 2026 at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, the family requested donations be made to Coon Creek Casters in Roger's memory.

“"Friend" Barbara Buck and family. 41 years of a loving relationship with Barbara Buck and Mitch. A worthy mention is, he openly welcomed. loved and celebrated Barbara's children and many grandchildren as his own. It was always a pleasure to see Mitch and chat with him throughout the years, a very likable man and interesting life he led. He will be missed. Tom and I extend to both Mitch and Barara's families, our deepest condolences.”
