He is survived by: his wife Mary Cooper (August); his granddaughter Destiny Cooper-Petrie; his stepchildren, Christine, Casey and Charles; his stepgrandchildren, Alan, Heather and Maycin; his children, Tammy and Randy; and his granddaughter Rachel.

His generosity was evident in many ways, including donating venison to help feed those in need.
