With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Mary John Elakkatt (Bensenville, Illinois), whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. She was predeceased by: her parents, Kurian Thandacheril and Annamma Thandacheril; and her brothers, Alexander Thandacheril and T. K. Lukose Thandacheril. She is survived by: her husband John Chummar Elakkatt of Thalayolaparambu, Kerala.; her children, Sajju, Jency (Varghese), Shiju, Sweety (Pereira), Sheena and Jince (Puthenpurayil); her grandchildren, Anyssa, Joslynn, Anyah, Nathan, Jaden, Jonathan, Joah, Seona, Sean, Jayla, Sarai and Joseph; and her siblings, Molly Chalungal, Babu Thandacheril, Lucy Mattathiparambal, Jessy Vettuparapurathu and Shibu Thandacheril. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 12th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, December 13th 2025 from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Knanaya Catholic Church (145 E Grand Ave, Bensenville, IL 60106). A Mass will be held on Saturday, December 13th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
