He was predeceased by: his son Joshua Schoon; his parents, Gerdes Schoon and Majorie Schoon; and his sister Theresa Lee. He is survived by: his wife Carol; his sons, Matthew and Brian (Mary); his grandchildren, Evelyn, Patrick and Duncan; and his siblings, Paul Schoon (Suzi), Jackie Niemier (Rick), David Schoon and Lawrence Manuel.
A memorial service was held on Monday, October 19th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Geils Funeral Home. A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, October 20th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Alexis Catholic Church (400 W Wood Ave, Bensenville, IL 60106).
