He was predeceased by: his siblings, Clarence Tate, Charles "Bud" Tate, Beulah Overturf and Marie Williams; and his nephew Tom Tate.
He is survived by: his sons, Jason (Lisa Tate) and Andy (Megan Tate); his grandchildren, Austin Tate of West Frankfort and Madison Tate of West Frankfort; and his sister Alice Schablowsky (Rick) of Mulkeytown, IL. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 22nd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Monday, June 23rd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Leffler Funeral Home (401 E Main St, Benton, IL 62812). A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 23rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, June 23rd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Masonic and Odd Fellows Cemetery (12470 Oddfellow Ln, Benton, IL 62812).
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.
