We bid farewell to Ann Lois James of Bethalto, Illinois, born in Freeport, Illinois, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on July 22, 2025 at the age of 83. Ann Lois touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. As Ann Lois departs from our midst, her spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Ann Lois. Though Ann Lois may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
She was predeceased by: her husband Bruce James; her parents, Herman Giles and Ruth Giles; and her siblings, William Giles, Betty Herbig (Duane) and Sandra Hendershot (Larry).
She is survived by: her daughters, Amy Nelson (Greg) and Jennifer Jones (Chris); and her granddaughter Gabrielle Nelson. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 2nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Fitzgerald Funeral Home (3910 N Rockton Ave, Rockford, IL 61103). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 2nd 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
