He was predeceased by: his parents, Sebastian Hoffner and Patricia Hoffner (Alger) of Esmond; and his son Cassidy James Hoffner. He is survived by: his wife Melissa "Missy" Hoffner (Breeden); his daughters, Sara Peterson (KJ) of Fargo, Tara Hoffner of Devils Lake, Haley Ellefson (Andrew) of Hawley, Minnesota and Samantha Rushing (Alex) of Brandon, Minnesota.; and his siblings, Fabian Hoffner (Jaye) of St. Louis Park and Siobhan Hoffner Deppa of Fargo.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Homes - Bethalto (727 E Bethalto Blvd, Bethalto, IL 62010). A memorial service was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 at 5:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Metro East Humane Society, Overnight OWLS Warming Shelter, directly to individuals and families courageously battling ALS-particularly those pursuing complementary and alternative therapies that often receive little financial support-or Team Gleason.
