With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Mary J Hartman of Bethalto, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 9, 2025 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jane Mahoney Scott and Robert O'Neill Scott; her sister Valerie Scott Brown; and her brother-in-law Dr. James Brown. She is survived by: her husband William Hartman of Patrick's Church; her stepchildren, Patrick Hartman, Julie Theobald (John) and Kevin Hartman (Katie); her sister Martha Scott Maloy; her grandchildren, Gaga, Ryan, Brendan, Caitlin, Bridget Hartman, Emily (Austin Gill), Erin, Shannon and Sean Theobald; her great grandchildren, Harrison and Kit Gill; and her family Notre Dame.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
