Melinda leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Melinda’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around her. Though she is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support she offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Melinda will carry forward her memory in their hearts.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Edward and Bessie Calphurnia Hueneger (Lanterman); and her brother Frank Hueneger. She is survived by: her son Donald Whittaker (Colleen) of Kirkwood, MO; her granddaughters, Sharon and Katie Whittaker; and her great grandchild Everly.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Rose Lawn Memory Gardens (10 Erwin Plegge Blvd, Bethalto, IL 62010).
Memorials are suggested to Lovejoy Presbyterian Church in Wood River where she had been a long time member.
