We announce the death of Sylvia Watters of Bethalto, Illinois, who passed away on July 16, 2026, at the age of 89. Sylvia will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Knoche and Elsie Knoche (Glassmeyer); her husband Les; her sons, Kennith, Bill and Dennis Watters; her daughter-in-law Linda Watters (Kennith); and her siblings, Richard Knoche, Melvin Knoche and Pauline Malone.
She is survived by: her children, David Watters (Kim Carroll), Nancy Eaker (Melvin), John Watters, Gordon Watters, James Watters (Kristy) and Jeannie Blackorby. She is also survived by nineteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; and seventeen great-great-grandchildren.
