He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles L. Cassady and Marie M. Cassady (Feuerborn); his brother Dr. Raymond Cassady (Polly); and his siblings-in-law, Edward and June Liptak.

He is survived by: his wife Janice Cassady of Stephen's Church; his sons, Matthew R. Cassady of Champaign, Stephen R. Cassady (Dawn) of Champaign, Shawn R. Cassady (Anne) of Aurora and Charlie R. Cassady (Jenny) of Pontiac; his grandchildren, Lauren, Bridget, Megan, Sasha, Riley, Natalie and Jonathan Cassady; his sisters, Patricia and Rosemary Cassady of Lisle; and his sister-in-law Judith Ondercho of Paxton. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
