He was predeceased by: his parent Jesse Mathis; his siblings, Diane Mathis and Chris Sanders; and his siblings-in-law, Mike Gillam, Kathy (Mike Moran) and Bob Gillam (Paulette).
He is survived by: his wife Patricia; his children, Tammy Mathis (Bill Kitchener), David Mathis (Lisa), Kelly Herington (Chris), R. J. Mathis (Arazue), Joe Mathis and Colleen Mathis (Ken Noth); his grandchildren, Presley, Kayla, Chase, Blake, Steven, Ryan, Adam, Izzy and Ava; and his siblings, Patricia Hall (John), David Mathis (Joan), Tommy Mathis, Becky Mathis and Melissa Evans (Aaron). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 2nd 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Humes Funeral Home (320 W Lake St, Addison, IL 60101).
