We are sad to announce that on May 26, 2025, at the age of 92, Charlene F. Wald of Bloomington, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles R. Mantei and Hilda Mantei (Brasse); her husband Joseph H. Wald; and her siblings, Vernon, Judy and Betty.
She is survived by: her children, Steven Wald (Shannon), Terri McDowell (Ross) of Havana, IL, Laurie Elzea (Greg) and Bonnie Westhusing (Michael); her grandchildren, Gregory (Jennifer), Jeffrey (Amanda), Bradley Widmer, Tiffany Elzea, Stephanie Elzea, Jacqlyn Hogan (Jonathan), Craig Westhusing and Sawyer Wald; and her great grandchildren, Abigail, Katherine, Kaleb, Grayson, Kinsley, Sarah, Jacob and Jordan.
Visitation was held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Matthew's Episcopal Church (1920 E Oakland Ave, Bloomington, IL 61701). A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to be made to St. Matthew's Episcopal Church or to the Children's Diabetes Foundation - Research, 3025 S. Parker Road, Suite 110, Aurora, Colorado 80014.
