He is survived by: his mother Madelyn Kay Callahan Hanson of Bloomington, IL; his wife Teri Sue Smith; his children, Molly Hanson of St. Louis, Jack Hanson of Bloomington, IL and Lindy Hanson of St. Louis, Missouri; and his brother Eric Hanson (Beth) of Normal, IL..
A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 19th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM and at 1:00 PM at the Calvert & Metzler Memorial (1115 E Washington St, Bloomington, IL 61701).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the St. Louis Police Officers Memorial Fund in St. Louis, Missouri.
