He was predeceased by: his mother Connie Menning. He is survived by: his father Alden Menning; his wife Cindy; his children, Susan Nelson (Dan) of Thompson's Station, Tom Menning (Sydney) of Fox Lake and Lea Nelson (Jim) of Bloomington, Illinois; his grandchildren, Avery, Romey Nelson, Riley, Leighton, Margot, Lucy Menning and Evelyn Nelson; and his siblings, Bruce Menning (Cathy) and Kaye Bennett.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Michael J. Fox Foundation.
