It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Donald Hopper in Bloomington, Illinois, born in Kingston, Illinois, who passed away on February 21, 2026, leaving to mourn family and friends. He is survived by: his friend Trent; his children, Thomas Hopper (Meighan Hopper) and Emily Ohmart (Jeremy Ohmart); his grandchildren, Will, Cole, Ben, Sophia and Addison; his mother Patricia "Pat" Hopper; and his sister Debbie Drain (Brian Drain). He is also survived by friends, for students, and for neighbors.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the West Caroga Lake Association or the Elks National Foundation, organizations that meant a great deal to him and reflect his lifelong commitment to community.
