He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Charles Leslie and Bernice Darnall Walker; his wife Jacquelyn Hanson; his children, Rodney Walker of Bloomington, Steven Walker (Vanessa) of Bloomington, Randy Walker (Mary) of Bloomington and Teri Parker (Steve) of Bloomington; his grandchildren, Darin Parker (Casey), Leslie Hensley (Justin), Jared Parker (Angie), Kaila Elmaataoui (Adil), Chet Walker (Erin), Keri Barbour (Braeden), Lee Ann Bachman (Brandon), Kolton Walker and Hope Walker; his sister Mary Ann Harrell (Don); and his sister-in-law Andrea Hanson. He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.

The family suggests memorials to be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to the Illinois Symphony at the BCPA.
