We are sad to announce that on November 12, 2025, at the age of 87, Doug Hennessy of Bloomington, Illinois passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Doug Hennessy to pay them a last tribute.

In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Doug leaves behind and his impact on the lives of his loved ones. Though Doug may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the memories held dear by his family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Hennessy and Mary O'Connor Hennessy of Joseph's Hospital; and his sister Marilyn Hennessy. He is survived by: his sister Eileen Griffin; and his sibling's children, Sheila, Jim Griffin (Ester), Martin Griffin (Rachael), Paul Griffin (Vanni) and Dan Griffin. He is also survived by his great-nephews and great-niece.

Visitation was held on Sunday, November 16th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church (106 W Chestnut St, Bloomington, IL 61701). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, November 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

“Father Hennessy guided me through RCIA and my confirmation at St. Patrick's Church in Urbana, Illinois in 1981. Although I moved away from Urbana after graduate school, we stayed in touch - on our mutual birthday! He provided further guidance to me through a troubled marriage and as I navigated through the years after it ended. His prayers and wisdom were inspiring to me and to so many others.”
