She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Nelson and Ellen Nelson (Critser); and her husband Robert Shelton. She is survived by: her daughters, Vicki McCullough of Columbia, MO and Jinna Nelson (Hank) of Danvers, IL.; and her grandchildren, Alyson Metzdorff (Paul), Brigid Townsend (Josh), Denise O'Neal (Josh), Crystal Nelson-Lindsey and Abbey McCullough. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the East Lawn Funeral Home (1102 Airport Rd, Bloomington, IL 61704). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to The American Heart Association.
