He was predeceased by: his parents, John A. Flynn and Margaret Delmar Flynn; his siblings, Anne Flynn Dunn, Patrick A. Flynn, Thomas E. Flynn, James J. Flynn and Timothy D. Flynn; his nephew Daniel Flynn; James and Irene Bennington.
He is survived by: his wife Irene Ann Bennington of Mary's Church; his grandchildren, Maeve Flynn, William Freeburg, Patrick Freeburg, Edward "Teddy" Flynn, Rose Flynn, Lola Flynn, Collin Flynn and Stella Flynn; his siblings, Michael Flynn (Jerrilyn), Margaret "Peggy" Flynn of Bloomington and Kathleen "Curly" Flynn of Bloomington; George K. Flynn (Sarah) of Burr Ridge, Katie Pizzamiglio (Mike) of Bloomington, Mary Freeburg (Chris) of Winnetka, John Flynn (Katie) of Bloomington, Leo Flynn (Kim) of Chicago and Bridget Flynn of Springfield.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Church, Central Catholic High School, or the University of Illinois I-Fund.
