He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Ruhrup and Hazel Ruhrup (Coup); and his spouse Shirley Reeser. He is survived by: his children, Steven Ruhrup (Judy), Brian Ruhrup, Kathy Johnson (Kirk) and Kevin Ruhrup (Karen); and his grandchildren, Christina Boring, Jason Cleinmark, Tiffany Cleinmark, Stephanie Easterbrook, Ashley Passfield, Chelsea Gaines, Tyler Johnson, Nicholas Ruhrup, Mathew Ruhrup, Christopher Ruhrup, Konner Ruhrup and Kameron Ruhrup. He is also survived by numerous great grandchildren.
In Lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to the Humane Society of Central, Illinois.
