With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gerald McFarden of Bloomington, Illinois, who passed away on February 9, 2026 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis McFarden and Erma McFarden (Doran); his former wife Rose Marie High; his son Gerald Edward; and his sisters, Jo Ann Barnett and Thelma McMillian.

He is survived by: his children, Troy McFarden, Julia Blankenship (Chris) and Lisa Buckley; his stepchildren, Tom Harms and Dr. Kaye Toohill (Michael); and his siblings, Carol Connor and Jack McFarden. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 4 great great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Central Illinois or St. Patrick Catholic Church of Merna.
