He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Thorpe and Violet Boatman Thorpe; his sisters, Linda Krieger and Delores Griesemer; and his grandson Vander Thorpe.
He is survived by: his children, Donald Thorpe (Andrea) of Bloomington, Jami Carver (Charles) of Bloomington and Marci Mecagni (Corey) of Merritt Island, FL; his grandchildren, Jessy Johnson (Alexandra), Jimmy Glaub (Angelica), Gunner Carver, Vallen Thorpe, Ripley Thorpe, Maya Mecagni, Allen James Mecagni and Letty Mecagni; and his great grandchild Jimmy Glaub. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
