He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy William and Isis Edith Robeson Grubel; his wife Audrey Mae Miller; and his brother-in-law Clifford McClure, Sr.. He is survived by: his daughters, Nancy L. Grubel of Carlock and Kathy J. Sullivan (Mark Genung) of Reno, NV; his great grandchildren, Jordynn Edkin, Evelyn Fay Sullivan and Hannah Audrey Sullivan; his sister Carol I. McClure of Clinton; and his godchild Gayle Ploense Heckelman. He is also survived by three grandchildren.
