It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lorene H. Backsmeier of Bloomington, Illinois, who passed away on November 4, 2023, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Maurer and Edna Maurer (Lehman); her husband Fred; and her granddaughter Katie Kloess. She is survived by: her children, Susan Kloess (Gary) and Rodney Backsmeier (Patricia); her grandchildren, Kristin O'Connor (Tim), Katrina Kloess, Adam Backsmeier (Jodie), Benjamin Backsmeier (Jennifer) and Mark Backsmeier (Kate); and her great grandchildren, Luke, Matthew, Jordan, Joshua, Jacqueline, Grace and Jack.
