Margaret C. Niezgoda Obituary
Margaret Carolyn Niezgoda, 95, of Bloomington, IL, formerly of Calumet City, IL, passed away on December 1, 2025, in Normal, IL.
Margaret C. Niezgoda was born on July 24, 1930, in Calumet City, IL, the daughter of Martin and Martha Komarowski.
Margaret married Anthony F. Niezgoda on August 11, 1951, at St. Victor Catholic Church in Calumet City, IL.
They raised three daughters: Dona (David) Hare, Sharon (Albert) Lundy, and Janet Niezgoda. Left to cherish Margaret's memory are grandchildren Benjamin Hare, Thomas (Kayla) Lundy, and Sarah (Kyle) Lemanski, as well as great-grandchildren Margaret and Daniella Lemanski. Also, her brother Robert (Barbara) Komarowski, sister-in-law Theresa Cwiok, and many nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother and five sisters.
Her husband Anthony passed in 2006 after 54 years of marriage, then Margaret moved to Bloomington, IL.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Patrick's Church of Merna in Bloomington, IL, on December 4, 2025, followed by a graveside service at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Calumet City, IL, where Margaret was interred next to her husband.
Margaret had a special love for little children, and they always gravitated to her. She was instrumental in starting a Kindergarten program at St. Victor's School. She requested in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or to St. Patrick's Church of Merna, 1001 N. Towanda Barnes Rd., Bloomington, IL 61705.
