He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Standaert and Florence Standaert (VerShaw); his wife Martha "Marty" Hamilton; his grandson Sam Cook; and his sister Margaret Gillette.
He is survived by: his children, Christine Stites (Bob) of Hopkinsville, KY, Mark Standaert (Dorothy) of Kimberly, WI, Ramona Chapman of Colorado Springs, CO, Laura Frahm, John Standaert (Christina) of San Diego, CA and Rose Cook; and his siblings, Mary Marquez of Peru, IL and Frederick Standaert (Marilyn) of Hatboro, PA.. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Salvation Army Church (701 W Washington St, Bloomington, IL 61701).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Doctors Without Borders, Mercy Ship or the Salvation Army.
