He was predeceased by: his parents, James A. Loy and Wilma Jean Loy Pitzer; his stepfather Charles Pitzer; his father-in-law Doug Hanson; and his granddaughter Seylah Crow.

He is survived by: his spouse Shelley Hanson; his children, Alan Loy (Tricia) of LeRoy, IL, Wendy Shirias (Paul), Amber Abrams (David), Patrick Reed, Sislye (Keith), Andrea Soper (Joey Tyson) and Andrew Loy; his grandchildren, Grace, Braden, Natalie Loy, Dalton, Kinley Abrams, Emerson, Taylor Shirias, Nolan, Miles, Brooks Crow and Sophia Tyson; his brothers, Gerald Loy (Kathy) of Flower Mound, TX and Steven (Nancy); and his mother-in-law Andrea Hanson.

The visitation will be limited to 50 persons at a time and everyone will be required to wear a face mask.

The family suggests memorials be made to Bloomington Normal Swim Club or Bloomington High School Swim Teams.
