We announce the death of Robert Kalafut of Bloomington, Illinois, who passed away on October 18, 2026, at the age of 77. Robert will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Kalafut and Tillie Kalafut (Kowalski); his son Bobby Kalafut; and his siblings, Curly, Jimmy, Pat and Rose.
He is survived by: his wife Candette "Candy" Czahor of Bloomington, IL; his children, Karen Frutos (Felipe) of Bloomington, IL, Paul Kalafut (Antonia) of Bloomington, IL, Krystle Anich (Jay) of Inlet Beach, FL and Jaclynn Burrgess (Tim Miles) of Lowell, IN; his grandchildren, Maria (Saul), Christian, Jacob, Andres, Dominica, Isaiah, Anastasia, Alexia, Elijah, Ariana, Alexander, Aiden and Amelia; his great grandchild Leilani; his siblings, Ronald Kalafut (Eileen), Joann Kalafut and Rita Daniel (Tom); and his pets, Daisy and Duke. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 27th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Baskerville Funeral Home (700 E Kahler Rd, Wilmington, IL 60481). A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 28th 2026 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location. The military honors will be held on Wednesday, October 28th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery (20953 W Hoff Rd, Elwood, IL 60421).
