He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas W. Freedlund and Lydia Freedlund (Snyder); and his son Rogers P. Freedlund, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Mette; his children, Jon R. Freedlund (Merry), Victoria Van Cauwenberge (James) and Elizabeth Objartel; his grandchildren, Kirsten Anderson (Jon), Jon Freedlund (Rachael), Mark Freedlund, Jamie Lievrouw (Dan), Brittany Lerdal (Kirk), Ryan Carby, Tim Freedlund (Janine), Jason VanCauwenberge (Amanda), Jennifer Luban (Zach) and Amy Rajerison (Noé); and his brother-in-law David Mette (Colleen). He is also survived by seventeen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Second Presbyterian Church or Shriners Children's Hospital.
