It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Velma Mae Goewey of Bloomington, Illinois, born in Mozier, Illinois, who passed away on January 24, 2022, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Burge and Azubah Fuller Burge; her spouse Marion Lavere Goewey; her sons, Michael Ray Goewey and James A. Goewey; and her siblings, Ray Burge, Melissa Guthrie and Anna Lee Walker.

She is survived by: her son Marion Lee Goewey of Towanda; and her grandchildren, Laura Goewey, Amber Beck and Todd Goewey.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
