He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Haussner and Erna Haussner; and his daughter Heidi Bianconi. He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Haussner; his children, Heather Mather (Gus) and Ted Haussner (Bekah); his son-in-law Dan Bianconi; his sister Rosemarie Koerth; his siblings-in-law, Margaret and Jim Torrie; his grandchildren, Jack Mather, Andrew Bianconi, Annika and Jonah Haussner; his niece Melanie Torrie; his nephews, Andrew, Jonathan and Jeff Koerth; and his pets, Marty and Julia.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Wounded Warrior Project in Walt's honor.
