With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Sarah Esparza (Blue Island, Illinois), whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Sarah left this world on October 18, 2025 at the age of 97, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her children, Joe J. Velasquez (Ofelia), Michael Velasquez, William Velasquez (Gloria) and Irene Velasquez; her sibling Amador; and her father Pedro Contreras.
She is survived by: her husband Jose Esparza; her children, Cynthia Castillo (Silvano), Virginia Castro (Antonio), Gilbert Velasquez (Carmen) and Felipe Esparza; and her siblings, Phyllis Cardenas, Peter V. Contreras, Maria Kimberling, Ramona, Henrietta, Emilio Contreras, Angelina Madrigal and Esther Venavides.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Friday, October 24th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Bethel Pentecostal Church (2726 Broadway St, Blue Island, IL 60406). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
