He was predeceased by: his spouse Shirley M. Smith; his parents, Harold Smith and Gwendolyn Smith; and his siblings, Bernard Smith, Madeline Rich, Cathy Goodman and Richard Smith.

He is survived by: his daughter Andrea; and his siblings, Shirley DeRoo Burke, Patricia Walsh, Carol Kolb and Robert Smith. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and other family members and friends.
