It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dixie M. Reed of Bluford, Illinois, born in Mount Vernon, Illinois, who passed away on May 17, 2024, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Leroy Browder and Helen Browder (Braden); and her siblings, Anita Shoemaker, Ruth Horton, Linda Gentry, Glenda Ellis, Dan Browder and Jeffery Browder.

She is survived by : her children, Tracy Price (Brian) of Bluford, Illinois, Joseph Reed of Dix and Michael Reed (Kelly) of Bluford, Illinois; her grandchildren, Felicia Bigley, Gibson Price, Dustin Reed, Jeffery Reed, Elizabeth Reed, Hazel Reed, Kristan Young and Kraig Young; her great grandchildren, Ryker and Brantley Crunk; her siblings, Larry Browder (Betty) of Dubois, Illinois, Donnie Browder of Dubois, Illinois, Brenda Roach of Centralia and Mitzi Troxtell (Randy) of Roxana, Illinois; and her former life partner Michael R. Reed of Dix, Illinois. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 22nd 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Hughey Funeral Home (1314 Main St, Mt Vernon, IL 62864).

Memorials may be made in Dixie's honor to the Reed Family, in care of Michael Reed.
