With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Thomas Schmutz of Bluford, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 10, 2025 at the age of 65. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Thomas Schmutz to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell James and Barbara Jean Schmutz (Jackson); and his stepmother Verna Schmutz. He is survived by: his spouse Beverly Schmutz (Byars); his children, Jordan Brown (John) and Jessica Knight; his grandchildren, Jhett Brown, Josslyn Brown, Brooklyn Knight, Payton Knight, Edyn Knight, Mason Knight, Shylie Donoho, Kobe Donoho and Alexendria Donoho; his sister Patricia Comeens (Rick); and his stepsiblings, Lori Maass (William) and Robin Ballard (Bruce).

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 14th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Hughey Funeral Home (1314 Main St, Mt Vernon, IL 62864). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 14th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location.
