With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Nina I. Hertz of Bonfield, Illinois, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Nina left this world on September 7, 2025 at the age of 89, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Roy Simmons and Tessie Simmons (Wright); her husband William LaVerne Hertz; and her grandson Jamie Jones. She is survived by: her children, Mary Ann Mills (Harvie) of Limestone, Paula Hertz of Bourbonnais, William "Bill" Hertz (Patti) of Braidwood, Gerald Hertz (Teresa) of Bonfield and Ken Hertz of Limestone; her grandchildren, Joey Rivera (Dionna), Johnny Hertz (Kristie), Jason Hertz (Amanda), Ali Astrella (Denny), Amanda Faber (Dan), Adam Hertz, Claire Hertz and Abigail Hertz; her stepgrandchildren, Lisa Mills, Rebecca McCord and Andrew Mills; her sister Ann Davis of Aurora, CO; and her sisters-in-law, Theresa Penley of Kankakee and Barbra Simmons of Bourbonnais. She is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Nina's name may be made to the Limestone Fire Department.
