Though Bessie may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Bessie touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Curtis and Anne Curtis; her husband James Johnson Sr.; and her children, Steve Johnson, Fred Johnson and Deborah Adams.

She is survived by: her son James Jr. Johnson (Vara) of Manhattan; and her daughters-in-law, Lynn Johnson of Mokena and Peggy Johnson of Orland Park, IL. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
