He was predeceased by: his parents, Ed Maxey and Mamie Maxey; and his siblings, Joann Maxey McCoy, Nancy Maxey Brewington, Priscilla Maxey Keck, Bob Hurt, Junior Hurt and Nealie Hurt Hendershott.
He is survived by: his son Monte; his sister Susan Imogene Jones; his nieces and nephews, Tracy Daniels, Kami Vincent, Daniel Keck, Tod Miller, Kenneth Hurt, Ingrid Emling, Jacqueline DeLong, Kathy Lergner, Marvina Williams, Rae Hardman, Jessica Tehas, Ron Jones, Gary Hurt and Debra Brown; and his grandson Marshall Maxey.
