As Lula departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Lula may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Lula leaves behind.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Sam Nickols and Christina Nickols (Psarou); her husband Chris Economos; and her brothers, Steven and John Nickols.

She is survived by: her children, James Economos of Bourbonnais, Penny Tzavellas of Norfolk, VA and Kristina Economos (George Collins) of Evanston, IL; her sister Coletta Nickols of Bourbonnais; and her grandson Alexander Tzavellas.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 2nd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Bourbonnais - Clancy-Gernon Funeral Homes, Inc. (295 Main St NW, Bourbonnais, IL 60914). A prayer will be held on Monday, June 2nd 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 3rd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church (296 N Washington Ave, Kankakee, IL 60901).
