He was predeceased by : his parents, Issac Grinstead and Blanche Grinstead (Curwick); his brothers, Raymond "Sam" (Henrietta Grinstead) and Marvin "Duke" (Sandra Grinstead); and his granddaughter Mandy Grinstead.

He is survived by : his wife Lois Grinstead of Bourbonnais; his sons, Michael Grinstead of Bourbonnais, Mark Grinstead of Bourbonnais and Martin Grinstead (Shawn Lanham) of Clifton; and his grandsons, Matthew Grinstead (Corran) of Kankakee, Mark Grinstead of Mississippi and Jacob Grinstead of Bourbonnais.
