He was predeceased by: his parents, Marion Bauer and Alma Bauer (Elmore); his wife Beth Guiliani; his son Chief William T "Bill" Bauer; his brother Walter Bauer (Marion); and his sisters-in-law, Betty and Bonnie Bauer.

He is survived by: his daughter Anne Cantwell (John); his daughter-in-law Jodie Bauer; his grandchildren, Jesse Cantwell, Elizabeth Ahrens, Hillary Kelly, Joey Kelly and Timothy Kelly; and his siblings, Eileen Norin (John), John Bauer, Jack Bauer, Ed Bauer (Sharon), Barb Carlson (Ray) and Mary Jason. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be directed to the Bradford Senior Citizen Center in Gomer's honor.
